About Scott

Scott Gilmore is a classical guitarist who has been contributing to the music ministry at Christ the King since 2014. He also teaches guitar, ukulele, and piano at Studio 237 here in Santa Rosa Beach.

While pursuing tennis as a career, Scott studied classical guitar and composition with Professor Jimmy Chandler of Northwest Florida State College for nearly 25 years.

In July 2006, Scott took the position of Head Tennis Professional at Watercolor Inn and Resort. That same month, Scott started performing his guitar music in public for the first time, when he was nearly 50 years old. Encouraged by the response, he began playing regularly around the Emerald Coast. In 2010, after playing for a wedding officiated by Pastor Dave Hope, Scott was invited to perform at Immanuel Anglican Church. Three years later, he came to Christ the King. Scott writes: “I am humbled, honored, and so very grateful to have the opportunity to share these great hymns in our wonderful ‘Church in the Wildwoods’”!

If a quiet and contemplative service with soothing classical guitar music appeals to you, please come worship with us at the 8 o’clock service on Sundays.
